In English 2 you will travel to ancient Greece, medieval times, and the European renaissance to read the fascinating stories that shaped modern literature. You will learn how to approach these complex books as your teacher breaks them into manageable sections and guides you step by step through the lessons taught by great literature.
This course builds on the reading and writing skills developed in English 1. You will learn how to respond to texts critically and thoughtfully. You will apply your growing mastery of grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics to all written assignments. Upon completion, you’ll be prepared for English 3 where you’ll examine masterpieces of American literature.
You’re my best teacher. – Esther T, English 2
Mrs. Craven, I just wanted to thank you for always having the class assignments up for the week by Monday. It really makes my week easier when I can schedule all class assignments at once. – Carolyn, English 2 and English B parent
“Gene and I were gone all day yesterday, so when we got home, I told her I got a message from you telling me she “”rocked”” English class yesterday. What a beautiful confident smile she gave me. Thank you for being such an encouragement to her. She has also loved the books she has read for class so far this year. She is not my reader, but she finished all the books early because she enjoyed them so much. She has asked for the rest of the books in the series. Blessings, Carolyn
