Who wants to put the word “fun” back in the same sentence with “Math class is…”???? Come join me for an interactive and hands on way to learn Pre-algebra! Over the year we will get introduced to pre-algebra mathematics, covering all topics normally taught in pre-algebra, as well as additional topics from geometry and discrete mathematics (used in engineering and computer sciences). We will cover topics such as prime and composite numbers; fractions & decimals; order of operations, coordinates, exponents, square roots, ratios, algebraic phrases, probability, the Pythagorean Theorem and more. This class has some arithmetic review but focuses more on pre-algebraic concepts. In addition to our class work, we will learn different techniques to learn math using more then just paper and pencil! Math should be engaging and interactive for the student so that they “master it” in order to move forward to the next concept in the building blocks of mathematics.
Our children are enrolled in a couple of classes at BIP this year. I am pleased to inform you after six years of homeschooling, we have a new excitement for science with attending Mrs. Fisher’s Intro to Marine Science. Specifically, the kids love having an open classroom with the instructor and students. Other courses we have been online with only offer the chat box. However, with the children being able to see, talk and engage online in class has sparked a new love for learning.
Mrs. Fisher was very punctual with her grading and correspondence with the kids. This has been by far their favorite class and I believe it’s because of the class interaction! They really felt part of a class and not just via a chat room.
The kids were able to interact and the teacher was bubbly.
We loved the virtual field trips she used to enhance the curriculum.
